3 months of Sleep!

My beautiful baby is 3 months old! I think I may have a slight obsession with her. Paisley is so amazing. Every moment is joy. She does not cry frequently. She is sleeping through the night from 8pm to 6am. If she wakes up its only for a quick diaper change. She is such an awesome daughter. :) She has discovered toys.... but no this does not need we need more. Jon and Stephanie came to visit and brought her Sophie the giraffe. She really likes her alot! She likes to lay on her mat and is starting to grab the toys and kick at them. She is about half way to rolling over... not sure if we are quite ready for this just yet. She has such strong legs! She scoots herself in a 360 using her head as the pivot point. She has a lovely very noticeable bald spot on the back of her head. She loves to people watch. She just wants someone to stare at all the time. I love that she seems to recognize Matt and I. Its such an amazing feeling when she cracks a smile when I go to pick her up at our sitters. This month was also the first time we spent a night apart... and we spent two apart. It was harder than I thought it would be but I just looked at her pictures constantly. But thats it for us and our beautiful happy healthy baby girl. Enjoy her 3 month pictures :)

2 Months of Excitement

Ms. P is 2 months old today!
We went to the doctor on Friday and she is 10.12 lbs. She has gained a whole 2.4 lbs in 2 months. Such a big girl!
She is so much fun and full of love. Especially in the last two days she just wants to cuddle and sleep on our shoulder. Super sweet... but also a bit difficult to get anything done. She has learned all kinds of new tricks this month which is quite entertaining. She LOVES watching tongues and then she mimics. Super precious.

She also can somewhat roll on her side. In the last two days when we get her from her crib she manages to scoot completely sideways using her head as the pivot point.

Enjoy her 2 month pictures :)

This little girl is consuming but I adore every second. I'm not looking forward to spending time away from her when I have to go back to work :( But we will survive.

1 Month of Joy

My beautiful Paisley is one month old! This little angel has brought so much joy to our family. She is such an easy going baby. She is starting to stay awake for sometimes hours at a time where she just enjoys looking at people and having them talk to her. She is starting to crack a smile but its not quite there yet. We are close though! She is also sleeping up to 5 hours at a time at night. Matt and I love that part! I love her so much! She is such a gift!

Below is our mini photo session. Disclaimer: She refused to wake up for ANY of the pictures. No matter how much I messed with her, talked to her, changed her, and fed her she refused to do nothing but sleep. I guess I cannot really complain but it would have been nice for one picture with her eyes open. So within the next couple of days we may add more pictures at a time when she chooses to be awake. Everything revolves around Miss Paisley :)

I'm obsessed with her teeny feet :)

Paisley loves her monthly stickers. Thnaks Kim Degnan

(This is when she was totally done with take pictures... kicked back and over it)

Her 4th of July tutu (it was $5 at www.alwaysunderpay.com LOVE it) I know it is not quite the 4th but it is close enough to celebrate right?

And the crafting is back...

O how I have missed you crafting...
In the last few weeks of pregnancy the whole crafting situation was almost non existent. I don't have a great table space plus I like working on the floor. So trying to move that belly was quite exhausting. But now that Miss P is on a semi schedule and I have a great husband who helps out so much with her I can enjoy some me time :)

I haven't been able to get a great picture of three of my projects due to the fact that they are white. But I will show the example pictures so you have something to envision. Sorry the picture is sideways... but those are the barefoot flower sandals courtesy of many blogs via Pinterest.totally cute!Celtic Knot headband tutorialThen this is the celtic knot headband that I made with the rest of the white t-shirt so kindly donated by Matt. Then I was really adventurous and made a celtic knot barefoot sandal. Hopefully one day I can get a nice picture to share.
Today during a naptime and a 1/2 I made this elastic neck fat quarter pillow case dress. I used zigzag cut seam allowance trimmings to make a cute bow for the front. The tutorial came from http://www.themotherhuddle.com/tutorial-elastic-neckline-pillowcase-dress/ What a great resource! They have a sizing chart all the way up into the toddler sizes and they have a few versions of the basic pillowcase dress. I also love that it calls for fat quarters!
Remember this beauty? (Although P is gorgeous I'm referring to the dress) This dress was one of the first things made when I found out we were having a girl. I cut up an old dress that didn't fit anymore and made this. She wore it to her two week doctors appointment and the compliments were flying. Love it :)

I've decided I need people to pay me to make them stuff. Paisley is going to have too many clothes to really wear. We don't go out that frequently right now and I feel weird getting her all dressed up just for me at home. SO therefore my conclusion is people need to employ me to make their babies cute things so I can fulfill my needs while not overloading my daughter :) Just a thought. Any takers? :)

New Chapter in Life

May 29, 2012 at 11:03am my life began a new chapter. Matt and I were blessed with Paisley Grace, a beautiful and healthy baby girl.
We have been planning for her arrival for months but hours before getting to meet her it felt like I was dreaming. Having Paisley has already helped me become a better person. A person cannot be selfish with a newborn staring back at you waiting for you to help them. (Example A is that it is 6:30am on my summer vacation and I just put her back to sleep but I figured I may as well stay awake since her next feeding is in an hour.) I feel all those cliche feelings for her- I am unable to focus on anything else because I just want to stare at her. Its a weird feeling but I wouldn't change a thing.

I love that Paisley gets the hiccups almost everyday. Matt says that is a cruel thing to enjoy because it keeps her awake. I love it because my last two weeks of pregnancy she would frequently have hiccups. It was such a wonderful feeling to know she was doing well and so I still think that when she is hiccuping away.

Last for this morning is I have to praise my husband. When you considering marrying someone you think about what it would be like to raise a family with them. Or at least I did. It is difficult to envision what someone will be like in a role that they have yet to serve, but you think of their personality and their characteristics and hope that this is enough to make a judgement on. I have always thought Matt would be a great father and he has proven this to the extreme. He has been so helpful, supportive and wonderful throughout this first week. I see such a difference in him. He loves our daughter so much and is so good with her. He gets up in the middle of the night often during feedings just to see if I want a glass of water. He will take her in the middle of the night so that I can sleep a few extra hours when she is fussy. He is not superman but he is everything I would want in a partner. We celebrate our two year wedding anniversary this Sunday and I could not be more excited. In two years our relationship has grown into something beautiful. I look forward to many more years with my Matt and now with Paisley.

God has blessed my life. We went through some personal and unexpected challenges but now it seems to all be falling back into place and very much better than where we were before. I'm excited for the opportunities that await and I look forward to my life's journey.
